Penny Auction Script Modification

We have installed the phppennyauction.com (feisty sites/telebid clone) script on our site.

This script has a tell a friend module which rewards users with free bids when a friend they have recommended signs up and purchases bids, we need this changed so users are rewarded when the friend sign up as a user not when they purchase bids.

We will have ongoing work for the winner of this project so please only bid if you have previous experience with this script.

Solr Lucene Search Developer

Do not apply unless you can do this job swiftly and without fuss
My auction website www.thedeadskunk.com search engine needs improving. As an example I wish it to work in the same manner as say ebay search engine does, showing the same results.
I had a programmer work on the internal search engine, but parted ways with them, as they were not giving my search engine project the correct and proper attention.
If you are a php wizard who knows how to sort out the boolean search functions for my site, so all is picked up and displayed as per ebay.WITHOUT nasty horizontal page expansions and the loss of other functions, than let me know.Payment will only be made on completion of work.

1) That does require you install SOLR in your server, build an entire indexing / search engine that will make the search 500% faster the site really is slow right now because we are using Mysql instead of SOLR-Lucene indexes for search

2) After that go in and index your existing products database.

3) Make all actions for add/remove/update of your products be in sync with the search index.

4) Integrate the UI for the new search engine where it brings up relevant results in just microseconds.

5) Integrate UI for autosuggest and so forth.

6) When listing, users upload images or pictures to their listings.Sometimes these images are too large in size and the users receive an error message regarding this.I would like the site to work as such, when a user uploads images which are too large, these images are automatically reduced on the fly to a permitted size without any extra load the server and zero image degradation. Also would like all images which are on site to open-up/enlarge upon mouse over without the surfer/searcher/browser having to click on any image in order to get it to enlarge.
If you go here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RANGE-ROVER-VOGUE-V8-SUPERCHARGE-4-2-05-NOW-SOLD-/280411291657?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item4149d0c009

7) Fix the search function so the search indexes correctly when it you drill down contextually.

8)Look for “dead people” in the code you already have because it seems to be like it’s not somehow 1000% robust

9)Also the “wanted ad” section needs fixing, as if you wish to place a wanted ad and click on Category>modify or additional category>modify the site just freezes as it takes an age to load said categories.Your original suggestion regarding access to root on server and additions to may solve this.

It Keeps You Runnin’: The Best Hydration-Bottle Packs

Product: Hydration-Bottle Packs

Manufacturer: CamelBak

Wired Rating: 0

Ah, summer: The time when runners don their skimpiest spandex and hit the trails in search of sunshine, fresh air and dehydration and, uh heat exhaustion.

Seriously, staying hydrated is important. It’s even more critical if your run stretches to an hour or more and the weather is hot. Unless you’re on a well-stocked marathon course with water and first aid stations every few miles, you’ve got to carry your own refreshments. That means some kind of pack.

We tested four waist packs, a popular choice for runners. (Water-filled backpacks are too hot and heavy for most runners, and most people don’t like handheld bottles.) We subjected each pack to at least 10 miles of city and trail running.

What we found didn’t exactly impress us: The bottles bounce, their straps chafe and you’ll spend way too much time cinching and un-cinching them in search of the perfect fit. Our advice: Go to a store where they’ll let you try them on before you buy, because the ideal fit is going to come down to the shape of your body.

On the plus side, carrying water could mean the difference between finishing that 8-mile run with a smile on your face and collapsing halfway through in a puddle of sweat and muscle spasms. As a bonus, most of these packs will also hold your phone, iPod, high-tech energy gels and any other gadgets you consider essential for running.

Amphipod Full-Tilt Velocity

Amphipod Full-Tilt Velocity

A horizontally mounted, contoured bottle helps this pack snug up against your lumbar area, a bit higher than most water-bottle packs. Because of its shape, it bounces less too. However, the location also makes it more difficult to get at anything you’ve stashed in the nylon pocket.

WIRED Snuggest fit of the packs tested here.

TIRED Horizontal bottle, with a nylon hold-down loop, is a little hard to remove and reinsert. Exterior stretchy pouch accommodates a phone, but feels a little delicate.

Amphipod PureRun Trai

Amphipod PureRun Trail

The only bottle pack to use a stainless-steel bottle, Amphipod’s PureRun Trail is compact, relatively bounce-free and includes a pocket that’s large enough to accommodate an iPhone, a Clif bar or two, and your car key. Unfortunately, it’s too easy to leave the bottle cap only partially closed, with the result that water leaks all over your butt. How embarrassing!

WIRED Bottle imparts no nasty plastic taste. Largely chafe-free design. Looks cool! OK, looks less dorky than most hydration packs.

TIRED Bottle cap more complicated than it needs to be, and can leak if not carefully closed. Standard bottle only holds 16 ounces. Weighs more than a plastic bottle.

CamelBak Delaney Plus

CamelBak Delaney Plus

Bigger than the other packs in this roundup, the Delaney sports two separate modules: A main, back unit that holds a generous 24-ounce bottle, with a mesh pocket for Gu packets and gorp, plus a front unit that looks like a mini-fanny pack, with a small zippered pouch for your phone and a pocket for other stuff. If you’re running the ridge trail and expect to be away from civilization for half a day, this pack’s your friend.

WIRED Room for lots of stuff.

TIRED Feels bigger than a Hummer and twice as ugly with a leopard-print paint job.

Nathan Elite 1

Nathan Elite 1

This diagonally mounted water-bottle pack is straightforward and bare bones. If you don’t need much more than the 22 ounces of water it holds, it might be sufficient. But one annoyance kept nagging at us: The little Velcro straps for bundling up the tail ends of the waist belts are just plain annoying. Bundle the end around itself and it bounces around while you run; strap it to the main waist belt and it will scratch you all day long: Either way it’ll drive you up the wall.

WIRED Trim, lightweight design. No unnecessary frills.

TIRED External pouch is too small to hold an iPhone or similar-size phone.

Website For Transcription Busi

I have a transcription service and need a website built for it.

Basically, the website would be pretty easy / static except for the fact that we need to have our clients be able to “sign up” for our services on our website. This means that they have to be able to create their own unique username and password. They would then fill out an online form with their contact info, business name, etc., and at the end of the form there would be an area where they would submit their credit card information. This credit card form area would need to be secure. After they fill out their credit card info and hit submit, it would just be emailed to us (or get stored in the system) and the client’s credit card would not be charged until we have completed their project. When we complete their project, we will manually charge their credit card via Quickbooks or paypal, etc. THIS IS NOT AN E-COMMERCE WEBSITE.

The other major component of the website is that there has to be a feature where the clients can upload their (very large) audio files to our website. After they upload their file, it would go onto a server and then it would send me an email notifying me that “ABC client has uploaded XYZ file… click here to download this particular file.”

When a returning client wants to upload more audio files for us to transcribe for them, they would simply login to their account on our website and upload a new file…. and the system would then email me again saying that “such and such client has uploaded this file…”

The website will have very few pictures, mostly text and some images. No flash either.

I do not need any web hosting, server hosting, email service either. Will be buying that first through godaddy.com / hostgater.com

I also need a back-end for the website so that I can go in and change the content by myself as needed.

Thank you!

Copy Content From Book To Wo 3

I have to pull some content from my school book and manuals onto a word document so I can edit it to my needs.

I need someone to move it from the book, manuals and put it on word file and .PDF including my name and logo on each page

There will be approximately 50 to 60 pages. Those pages will come from two hardcover books and one online workbook.

I will provide you with scanned copies from the hardcopy books (school books) and I will send you a copy of the electronic workbook.

I will also send you a the instructions on which pages to pull.

This is a very easy, non technical job so if you want a quick review, this is the way to get it.

I will pay ONLY after the project is complete. If you bid on this project and ask for escrow only displays your inability to pay attention to details and client needs.

Good luck.
