Forget Tarantino and Rodriguez… Time to show ?em you can make an exploitation film worthy of any old, run-down drive-in movie theater on the edge of town, too.
GRINDHOUSE has a lot of goodies inside. You may find many of the elements used in this project useful outside of this motion graphics presentation. In particular, the 3D type treatment and the damaged film pre-comp.
GRINDHOUSE is made of 3 key ingredients:
1) A type treatment that simulates a rusted metallic electric billboard lighting up.
2) A real 3D extrusion and animation of each letter created using the standard Shatterplug-in.
3) A damaged film treatment including a custom film “burn-out” at the end that replicates melting celluloid.
The coolest thing about all of this? No third-party plug-ins and no stock footage is needed for this project. Everything you see in this treatment – with the exception of the fonts – is created entirely using the basic plug-in set from the CS4 Production Bundle.
This project is full HD (1920×1080) and is 24fps. It’s :15 in length.
