iOS Passbook Tutorial Showing How To Setup A Simple Passbook Service

Previously I mentioned an example showing how to create a Passbook web service using Ruby on Rails.

Here’s an in-depth tutorial from Ole Begemann showing how to create a simple service using Passbook that is used by Ole at his office to for handling a cash pool used for buying coffee.

The tutorial goes through the process of setting up the Pass Type ID and installing all certificates on an example web service created using Ruby Sinatra.

There’s also the source code to a companion app utilizing the service included as part of the tutorial.

You can find the tutorial on Ole’s site here.

A great example – keep in mind there’s no thought of security with this service so it’s not something you’d want to unleash over the web.
