New iMacs now available for order

Apple’s new redesigned iMacs are now available for order on their online store. The new iMacs are the most significant redesign in three years. They forgo the optical drives to achieve and incredibly thin bezel.

The new iMacs come in four stock configurations (all prices are USD):

21.5-inch: 2.7 GHz — $1299

  • 2.7 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5
  • Turbo Boost up to 3.2 GHz
  • 8 GB (two 4 GB) memory
  • 1 TB hard drive
  • NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M with 512 MB

21.5-inch: 2.9 GHz — $1499

  • 2.9 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5
  • Turbo Boost up to 3.6 GHz
  • 8 GB (two 4 GB) memory
  • 1 TB hard drive
  • NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M with 512 MB

27-inch: 2.9 GHz — $1799

  • 2.9 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5
  • Turbo Boost up to 3.6 GHz
  • 8 GB (two 4 GB) memory
  • 1 TB hard drive
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M with 512 MB

27-inch: 3.2 GHz — $1999

  • 3.2 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5
  • Turbo Boost up to 3.6 GHz
  • 8 GB (two 4 GB) memory
  • 1 TB hard drive
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675MX with 1 GB

Currently customers can order all base configurations (and custom configs). The 21-inch models ship in just one to three days. However those wanting the 27-inch models will see a two- to three-week ship time, which is cutting it close if you hope to have a new iMac under the tree this year.
