Once again the week is coming to an end and that means it’s time for a roundup of the past weeks news!

iFixit tears down the 4th generation Retina iPad, finds LG display – Lines are a little bit shorter than most expect from an Apple product launch, but today Apple’s new iPad lineup, the mini and 4th generation with Retina, officially go on sale. While the new fourth generation Retina iPad is not a whole lot different than the iPad 3 it replaced, iFixit has taken apart the new iPad to find out exactly what changes Apple has made on the inside.

What’s new in iOS 6.1 beta: Maps bugs reporting, lockscreen music, more – Apple just released a beta version of iOS 6.1 to developers, following the public release of iOS 6.0.1. We get mostly expected fixes in 6.0.1, but we are already started discovering new features in the 6.1 beta.

iPad Mini Launch Attracting Shorter Lines on Launch Day – Reuters reports that the early lines for Apple’s new iPad mini seem to be shorter than for previous product launches. They note that about 50 people waited at the Apple Store in Sydney, Australia and about 100 or more outside Apple Stores in Tokyo and Seoul. Reuters notes that in the past, the line at the Sydney store “stretched for several blocks” for iPhone launches.

iPad Mini Teardown Reveals Samsung Display Driver, A5 Chip, Stereo Speakers – iFixit is currently working on a teardown of the iPad mini, revealing the internal components of the device for the first time.

Apple rolls out OS X updates for Safari, iPhoto and Aperture – Apple on Thursday rolled out a batch of software updates, bringing minor security fixes to its Safari web browser, a number of additions like enhanced Photo Stream support to iPhoto, and a huge change list for Aperture.
