Pricing

Project Bubble is priced mostly on the number of users required on the system and the amount of storage needed to meet the needs of the organisation using it. All plans offer unlimited clients, contacts and invoices and they range from $12 per month for the freelance plan up to the $99 per month white label plan (which completely removes all branding and allows a custom domain to be used).

In my opinion, the pricing of the app is extremely reasonable, especially since it offers a great range of productivity features. In the long run, all of Project Bubble’s features work to decrease the amount of time needed to manage the various aspects of a business’ everyday running, and keep you from spending more on multiple app subscriptions each month.

Getting Started

Getting the app up and running doesn’t take long and once you’ve chosen the right plan, you’re then asked to enter payment details and login credentials. While all plans cost, Project Bubble offers a free 15 day trial so users can be sure that they’re completely satisfied with the app before investing. The whole registration process doesn’t take too long and once it’s complete, you can log into the app to begin using the functionality it offers.

Projects

Projects are added individually to the Project Bubble system and this can be done within a matter of seconds. Once a name and description has been entered, Project Bubble then allows each project to be assigned to a particular client which can be chosen from the menu of existing ones but should these not exist, they can be added simply.

An optional due date can then be selected for the project’s completion for easy reference and other users of the system (“collaborators”) can be assigned to the project. Additional options are available that can speed up other aspects of management with the app such as hourly and daily rates that can be assigned to each project.

Task Management

When it comes to creating and assigning tasks, Project Bubble doesn’t let its users down. They can be added easily to any project and assigned to users with ease, making the process a lot faster than relying on additional apps to manage these. Where some apps are devoted solely to task management and aim to make this as simple as possible, this app takes another approach that focuses more on allowing tasks to be integrated with other areas of the app such as invoicing. Billable and estimated hours can be added to any task to make referencing this when required quick and billable time is easily visible next to any task in the main list.

Managing Tasks

Managing Tasks

Another great feature of the task management section is the option to add other little attachments to each task such as individual to-dos, comments, files and notes. This way, you can treat each tasks in your project as a sub-project, complete with everything needed to complete that one step of your overall project.

Time Tracking

Another feature worth mentioning is the ability to easily track the time spent on a specific task in a project. When work begins on a specific task, the timer can be activated with a click. When you’re done, another click stops it. This makes calculating the cost of a project simpler since the time spent on the project can be referenced when required and the cost of the project should increase as the timer does based on the project’s hourly rate.

Invoices

Given the developer’s success with a dedicated free invoicing app, it’s no surprise that Project Bubble is great for invoicing, too. When creating invoices, the system automatically checks for billable time and these are added to the invoice without any additional effort. Should these not exist, items and costs can still be added in a ‘WYSIWYG’-type fashion – with total costs updating almost instantly to reflect the changes.

Invoices can also be accessed by clients through the web interface and these can be paid through PayPal without the client having to worry about processing the payment manually. Should the manual approach be taken, Project Bubble even offers the ability to download the invoice as a PDF file and email it directly to the client.

Final Thoughts

When it comes to finding a full-featured solution to managing projects, it can be tricky to see through the jargon and find out exactly what you get with an app. This is where Project Bubble differs. It’s a complete solution to the various minor and major annoyances found when managing projects without the aid of extra tools, making it perfect for organisations of any size. Whilst it’s clear that some users prefer different apps to manage different things and tend to avoid all-in-one solutions, I found Project Bubble to have only what is necessary to do the tasks at hand and this works in its favour – making an app that is extremely pleasing to use.
