I want to create an application which will query a Microsoft based application running on a dedicated server via the 802.11 stack on the iPhone/iTouch/iPad. The application is required to query the server at regular intervals and process information that is generated from the upstream server. Each piece of information received at the handheld must be able to initiate an action/response and update the server with the result. In the case of the iPhone this may include making a cellular call and initiating specific DTMF tones after a connection is made to facilitate interaction with a voice processing system.
