This is a real simple job and I am hoping for a quick turn around…
I want a php script which will parse Google News RSS feeds and present the feed without the Google tracking on all the links.
For example this news feed:
http://news.google.com/news?pz=1&cf=all&ned=us&hl=en&output=rss
All the item links and any links within the item content are tracked through Google.
This script will sit on my server and I can reference it like this:
…/rss_script.php?feed=http://news.google.com/news?pz=1&cf=all&ned=us&hl=en&output=rss
It will then present a version of the Google news rss feed, but with all links pointing directly to their source. It just strips out the Google news click tracking.
To be clear, what I mean is the script will generate a new RSS feed (not a web page) just without the Google click tracking. I will use this version of the RSS feed to syndicate the content to other places.
I figure this is possible for the script to strip out the Google tracking just by looking for the url= var on the end of all those links in the Google version of the feed.
It sounds simple to me, but then I am not a programmer 🙂
