We are in need of converting a corporate website into WordPress. We don’t have a lot of changes to make to it, just one “live” form to add, but we want the website redesigned so that we can edit it ourselves. Plus we need a PCI compliant shopping cart that will pass security reviews. Below you will find a detailed scope of the project. PM me for the website URL and/or any questions.
Usability Goals:
As defined by the user list (to be provided ) users will have the ability to perform the following functions:
1. Users may add a new News Item
2. Users may edit an existing News Item
3. Users may add a new Page
4. Users may edit an existing Page
5. Users may add new Shopping Cart Items
6. Users may edit Shopping Cart Items
7. Shopping Cart will be PCI Compliant
8. Shopping Cart will offer secure checkout
9. Shopping Cart will support Paypal as a payment option.
Prep Stage:
1. Create WordPress Compatible Website Theme [using current site design]
2. Create Page Inventory Document
This document will serve as an archive for all site content and should be sent to us for review & modification prior to migration to the new site. This way we can be sure all the pages have been accounted for and any possible changes to their content have been covered as well.
3. Create Inventory Document for Downloadable Files
In order to be sure all downloadable forms and other files are included in the migration. Create an inventory sheet for these as well and forward it to us for review.
Setup Stage:
4. Create WordPress Prototype
Using the new WordPress theme created in step #1 and four sample pages of content from step #2 create a new WordPress Demo site and send the functioning URL to us for review.
Migration Stage:
5. Create News Inventory Document
Create a new document containing the content for all existing news stories. Forward this list to us for review.
6. Integrate News Functionality into WordPress Site
Includes migration of approved content from #5 as well as improved styling to make news stories easier to read.
7. Migrate Remaining Page Content
Send us a list of newly created web addresses for each new page
8. Migrate Downloadable Files
Form Stage:
9. Install a WordPress Secure Form Handler
10. Implement 5 plus Forms
Send web address to completed forms & test form functionality.
Store Stage:
11. Create Store Inventory Document
12. Install WordPress Secure Store Module
13. Migrate Store Items –
A list of web addresses for each individual item should be sent to us.
User Account Stage:
14. Create User Accounts (List will be provided)
Create a series of user profiles with the appropriate site permissions.
Documentation / Training Stage:
15. Create Training Document
Create a customized training document for our users. This document will include screenshots to assist users in learning how to:

Pre Migration Testing:

Retest forms, check for broken links, check for empty pages, look for typos & check browser compatibility.
Migration:
17. Migrate Site to Live Server
Backup the site database & migrate the WordPress demo site to the live domain.
Post Migration Testing:
18. Post Migration Testing / Final Checks
Once the site has been migrated to the new domain verify that all the functionality is performing as expected on the new server.
