Open Beacon Video Comments for WordPress is an intuitive and
easy to use plugin that enables video-based comments for posts on
WordPress sites.  It serves as an alternative to generic
text-based comments.  Not only is it easy to setup and easy to

How it works
When installed, the plugin presents backend (dashboard) and
front-end functionality.  The front-end is a widget that can be
placed on any bar but preferably on the left or right sidebar,

the ability to view video comments and create some of their
own.  The backend has a settings page through which the
functionality of the widget can be adjusted and also a video comment
list through which video comments and their metadata can be viewed,
edited and deleted.

Intuitive installation and functionality
Installation of the plugin is a straightforward affair: activate the
“Open Beacon Video Comments” plugin and then go to Appearance ->
Widgets and place the “OB Video Comments” widget on the sidebar of
your choosing.  That is it, you are done with installation.
Visitors/users can then upload video comments, accompanying
thumbnails and captions in response to a post they have read.

Zeitgeist – the world’s inundation with video is the quintessential
spirit of our time.  Video seems to be readily available on all
platforms and seems to be taking over as the primary way of
communicating and will probably be used extensively in
record-keeping as well; because of this growing trend, we found it
fitting to start offering comments in video format.
People are visual/spacial – the human race is primarily
visual/spacial both in learning and creating.  As such, video
comments seem to be the most natural way to offer commentary.
Countering the growing “mean comments” trend caused by anonymity –
anonymity gives normal and good people the leeway to make shocking,
cruel and sometimes bizarre statements without putting a face to the
words.  We believe OB Video Comments can curb this tragic trend
and encourage people to interact in a clearer and less hostile way.
Ubiquitous camera on computers, phones and tablets – cameras on
computers, tablets and phones have become so commonplace, it is
impossible to imagine a world when it was not so.  This
availability of cameras and video demands new and more interesting

PLEASE NOTE: The demo video showed a checkbox for email
notifications on the “OB Video Comments Settings” page although the
feature was never explicitly demonstrated.  This feature has

Business area consists in 4 main screens:

About screen presents the information about the company. The picture, Fully (in Who is Fully), Description are displayed from Parse database dynamically.

Services screen presents a list of different services, you can customize it with your own.

Once you tap on a service, the single service screen will be displayed, with information about the service and a sliding photo gallery.

Portfolio screen displays a sliding picture gallery.

Contact screen shows information about the business, general contact details, Google Map Position with location pin and information window and a contact form, fully functional, the contact form details being stored in Parse.

2. WordPress Based Blog

For the blog part, first you need to install a plugin in your WordPress site, called WP-API. You can read more here: http://wp-api.org/ .

First screen list all categories and pages. Selecting one of the categories you will see a list of all the posts in that category. Tap on a post and open the post page with the featured picture, author name / avatar, date posted and post description.

3. Shop Template

The shop is more like a starter, for you to have a starting point when developing a shop. Although we included Category Screen, Product Listing Screen and the Single Product Display Screen, PayPal Mobile SDK is integrated and it takes the product’s price dynamically.

4. Google Maps

For the Map part, we included full screen Google Maps centered on the user actual location (GPS) and we added a few dynamic location pins with info window when you tap on each.

5.Other Features

User Management

Again, we used Parse, to store user details and to log in the user. In the registration process we added a location field, with GPS coordinates location together with the area info (Country name, state).

You can set up Parse email verification feature – navigate to your Parse account, under settings and emails, and switch on the Email Verification button.

Icons and Splash Screens

PSD Photoshop files for app icon and splash screen (ugly, but just to have a starting point, with guides and safe zone included) – easy to edit and to integrate.
