I’ve mentioned a few resources for those working on chat apps most recently an open source chat app example with a nice interface using Parse, and an expanding text entry component that sits atop the text view.
Here’s a UICollectionView based library that allows you to easily create an interface for chat apps with a number of nice features called SPHCHatCollectionView from Siba Hota.
SPHChatCollectionView includes support for avatars, text bubbles, image bubbles, a text entry view and more all with some very clean animations.
