Previously I mentioned a handy set of free Photoshop actions and Automator workflows to aid in the usage of Photoshop for app design.
Here’s an iOS 7 app icon template for use within the free vector drawing Inkscape submitted by Ulrich Winkler of Kodira along with a script to automatically convert the images to png and provide the different required icon sizes.
The template includes a number grid, mask, and border layers to aid you in properly sizing and designing your icon, and seeing how it will look after it is masked during submission to Apple.
Here’s an image from the homepage showing an icon masked with a grid in Inkscape:
You can find the template and script on the Kodira site.
You can download Inkscape from the homepage here.
A nice template if you’re looking to use Inkscape for creating app icons.
Thanks to Ulrich for the submission.
