The date picker is one of those controls that you’ll often find yourself wanting to place within other views such as action sheets, and popovers, but there are complications.
Here’s a nice custom component from Roland Moers called RMDateSelectionViewController that allows you to present a UIDatePicker that slides out in a UIActionSheet style.
Included are methods for easily showing and dismissing the action sheet with date picker, you can control exactly which view controller the date picker is shown from (so it could be a view other than an action sheet like a popover), and the date picker adjusts automatically for the right orientation.
