Earlier this year I mentioned an excellent tutorial from Joris Kluivers showing how to create transitions that you can use as a UIStoryboardSegue.
Here’s an interesting library from Joris’ called QC-Mobile that allows you to load and display compositions created with the Quartz Composer (.qtz files) visual programming tool on Mac.
As Joris’ states he envisions Quartz Composer becoming a great way to create:
– Image transitions (imagine a custom UIStoryboardSegue using a Quartz Composer effect)
– Video processing (Instagram like filters)
– 2D/3D animations
Here’s a video showing QC-Mobile in action:
You can find read more about Quartz Composer for iOS on Joris’ blog here, and the source code can be found on Github here.
While QC-Mobile library won’t allow you to run anything created within Quartz Composer, it’s a great start with a number of examples included.
