Doctors prefer apples — both the edible and the electronic variety, says a report in The Motley Fool. Apple technology is revolutionizing the medical industry through physicians, who fell in love with their iPads and iPhones. Doctors are using these devices in their daily practice and are driving innovation in the field.
A 2012 survey of healthcare professionals by Vitera Healthcare, cited by The Motley Fool, found that 60 percent of respondents have an iPhone and 45 percent have an iPad. They are using these devices to help them diagnose diseases like skin cancer, prescribe medicine and track patient health. In some instances, the iPhone is transformed into a portable instrument to study the eyes, the heart and even internal organs.
