Earthlapse, like Living Earth HD from last week, is a way to view the planet Earth on your iPad or iPhone. Earthlapse is from the creator of Magic Window, and is based on time lapse photography. The creation of Earthlapse is a lesson in minimalism and focus, as developer Josh Michaels explains in this week’s Origin Stories.
Earthlapse offers gorgeous views of our planet taken from the International Space Station. You can control the time with a swipe of your finger, and there are a few extra features like weather and a clock. Earthlapse is even compatible with the iPad 1. The app is now free for a limited time.
