Open Source Control For Easily Creating Custom iPhone and iPad Keyboards

The iPhone and iPad have a wide variety of keyboards covering many different languages – but not every language.

Here’s a user interface control from Kulpreet Chilana that allows you to create a custom keyboard that can be changed by editing a few define statements including a font of your choosing to create the keys with.   You can use this to quickly create keyboards that look and behave just like the regular iPhone and iPad keyboards.

Great if you’d like to support a language with a non-existant iOS keyboard, or a keyboard of your own design.

Here are a couple of images from the included example app showing a Punjabi keyboard on iPhone and iPad.

You can find Custom iOS Keyboards on Github here.

Since the keyboards adhere to the same shape as the regular iOS keyboards you might want to take a look at this control if you require some extra keys.
