Free Tool For Building iOS Regular Expressions (NSRegularExpression) That Actually Work

One of the big issues with regular expressions is the slight differences between the various regular expression engines.

This can make it extremely tedious when creating regular expressions as one regular expression may work fine on one platform, but on another platform have inexplicable errors.

Here’s a tool called NSRegexTester by Aaron Vegh that provides an easy way to test regular expressions using the ICU regular expression engine (the same used by Apple)  so when you plug in your regular expressions into NSRegularExpression they actually work.

Here’s an image showing the tool in action:

A great help for avoiding the frustration with building regular expressions that end up not working.
