Some time ago I mentioned the DataKit project – a framework that assists you in building a web based back end for your apps using MongoDB.
Recently I received a submission about a similar project called DeploydKit that uses the Deployd framework to provide the back end API.
Deployd is a framework advertised as “the simplest way to build an API” and provides a multitude of APIs itself, a modular API allowing you to extend your API using thousands of Node.JS modules, a slick dashboard and more.

Just starting to play with this, but it looks like a great way to create a sophisticated back end for your apps.
