Judge denies motion to lift Apple's ban on Galaxy Tab 101

Stay with me on this one. There’s a little back-and-forth to get through.

Earlier this summer, US District Judge Lucy Koh granted Apple an injunction that would ban the sale of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in the US. An appeals court later affirmed the ruling.

Then in August, there was confusion over the implications of an unregistered patent. To make a long, jargon-heavy story short, the jury found that it did not infringe Apple’s design patent.

As you’d expect, Samsung wasted not a minute in filing a motion to lift the sales ban and get the Galaxy Tab 10.1 onto US shelves. On Monday, Judge Koh denied the motion. You can read her ruling here. Apple is now expected to ask the judge to overturn the jury’s decision. Oh, what a tangled web we weave.
