Interesting Open Source Framework For Developing Real Time Musical Instruments On iOS Devices

Not too long ago I mentioned the high performance audio library Novocaine.

Today I came across an interesting library for creating real-time instruments on the iOS platform providing API’s for audio, networking, networking, multi-touch and more with the specific purpose of creating musical instruments and experiences.

The library is Momu developed at Stanford University in collaboration with Smule (the company that brought us the famous Ocarina app among others).

You can find Momu at Stanford here with full document and examples..

You can find a tutorial specifically on using Momu to create a Mandolin over here.

Looks like an interesting framework that will take some time to understand.
