I’ve mentioned the Parse.com service a few times, and some of the things you can do with Parse beyond just sending push notifications such as this tutorial on creating a chat room app using Parse.com.
Earlier I received a submission about an interesting new tutorial and app from the parse team. What this app does is show how to use Parse.com as the backend for a location based social messaging app.
You post a messsage, that message is stored using Parse.com as the backend, and automatically shared with those who are close to your location.
You can find the tutorial on how to create this location based messaging app on the Parse.com site here.
You can download the source for the appn on Github here.
You can download the app from the tutorial “Anywall” on the app store.
Thanks to James Yu from parse.com for the submission.
