Accessibility is a big deal – and Apple has taken a number of steps to make it easier for iPhone and iPad developers to use VoiceOver to make their apps more accessible.
For instance, you can improve the accessibility of your app greatly with the accessibility label in interface builder.
If the label isn’t enough you can use the accessibility API, and Keith Harrison has written an extensive guide on how to do just that detailing how to create more informative voiceovers in the creation of a timer demo app.
