Open Source: Easy To Use High Performance iOS Audio (Recording And Playback) Library

Latency has always been an issue when using the high level audio libraries provided within the iOS SDK – and using the low-level libraries can be extremely tedious and time-consuming.

Recently I came across a library providing a recently open sourced high performance audio library that has already been proven in several apps.  The library has a very clean easy to use block based syntax.

The library is Novocaine from Alex Wiltschko – I came across this library the other day, but the author had licensed it as “All rights reserved” he has since made it clear that the library is indeed open source and free to use.

You can find the library on Github here, and you can find usage examples along with a listing of apps the library has already been used in over here.

A great solution for high performance audio on both iOS and Mac.
