Open Source: Library For Easily Creating A Photos App Style Thumbnailed Image Picker

The Photos app on iPad provides an easy way to select images by allowing you to chose images using thumbnails in the bottom toolbar, and enlarges the selected images.

Today I came across a control enabling similar functionality that can be used in both iPhone and iPad apps with a provided array of images.

I really like the simplicity of this control, it’s easy to use, runs very quick, is ARC compatible, also allows a specific image to be chosen using a slider, and is a regular view so it can be used anywhere you simply need to define the size of the container.

Here’s a video demonstrating the library in action:

The library is Thumbnail Picker View from Dominik Kapusta, and can be found on Github here.

This control makes a nice alternative for the typical photo picker.
