Apple reveals product, retail sales numbers at iPad event

Apple CEO Tim Cook revealed some Apple sales figures during today’s iPad media event, and they’re nothing short of impressive. Cook noted that the company’s post-PC devices, meaning the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, accounted for 76% of its revenue last year. In fact, Apple has sold an incredible 315 million iOS devices in total through last year, 62 million in Q4 2011.”

Apple’s retail stores are posting gangbuster numbers, too. A new store in Amsterdam recently opened for business, bringing the total number of Apple Stores to 362. They received 110 million visitors in Q4 2011 alone.

As for the App Store, a customer in China download the 25 billionth app last week, and the store currently has 585,000 apps available. Wow.

iPad numbers are also compelling. Cook revealed that, “[Apple] sold more iPads in the last quarter of last year, than any PC maker sold of their PCs.” 15.4 million were sold in 2011 Q4 alone.
