Open Source: Library For Creating Framed, Shadowed, Stacked Images Automatically For A Real Photo Look

Some time ago I mentioned an excellent collection of examples on using Core Animation, one of the examples demonstrated how to create framed, and shadowed images.  To give an image that “real photo” look that you’ve likely seen in many different apps (and all over the web too).

This library allows you to create a similar effect, and also allows you to stack the images.  This is typically done with Photoshop or some other image editor.

What I like about this library is that it automatically adjusts the frame size, and aspect ratio so you can just shove in your images, and it will automatically adjust the size of the frame, and shadow size.

Here’s a screenshot of the library in action taken from the Github page:

The library is from Scott White and is SWSnapshotStackView.  You can find the Github repository complete with instructions and a demo here.

Not the most complicated library, but makes one of those things you will probably end up wanting to do at some time very easy.
