Getting downloads in the iOS app store can be a difficult task, and social sharing can be an effective way to promote your apps without extra costs.
Recently I mentioned the ShareKit 2 community created framework update to the popular ShareKit social sharing library for iOS apps. This new SDK for iOS allows you to use the Kik messenger for more sophisticated content sharing.
If you hadn’t heard of Kik, it’s a cross platform instant messenger that already has millions of users.
What’s really cool about sharing content with Kik is that you can share, and if the user has your app then that content can automatically be opened by your app – if they don’t have your app then when they choose to open the content it will send the user to the app store listing providing you with automatic promotion.
Here’s a video showing this sharing in action with a picture app:
You can read more and download the framework from the Kik developer page here.

A very cool way to use content sharing to encourage more app downloads and usage.
