What You’ll Be Creating

Take just a minute to learn how to use isolated objects to create an energetic splash dress in Photoshop.

How to Create a Splash Dress Effect With Isolated Objects

One of the most useful time-saving resources available on GraphicRiver is the library of Isolated Objects. Usually this means an object isolated on a solid white background. That creates an easy task of extracting the object to be used in a composition.

Even better than that are objects that are already isolated into individual layers, with the layered Photoshop file provided. Such is the case with the 24 Isolated Splashes provided by author 3eckdesign for $9. When combined with this model image, it’s easy work to create a stunning splash dress effect.

We’ll start with this image of this model in a teal-colored dress. Then we’ll add some splashes to it and match the splashes to the dress color.

This project is made much easier if you can use a resource where the splashes are already isolated. That’s the case with this splash resource. It includes an all-in-one file that has every splash isolated on its own layer.

Then it’s simply a matter of dragging the splash over and depositing it onto the model.
