Do you keep putting off those trivial tasks just because you don’t have any time? Is your salon flooded with customers and you don’t have the bandwidth to handle the crowd? Trying hard to reduce the waiting time of your patients at your clinic? An appointment manager would be an efficient way to solve these problems, but sadly enough, most of the apps floated in the market today are disappointing.
Today, we’re going to look at SetMore, an appointment manager web app that makes it easy to keep your business schedule filled with clients without much effort on your part.
The contestant
By definition, an appointment manager should be able to schedule an appointment between 2 parties for a specific purpose. Hospitals, salons, spas, personal trainers, educational instructors, and more can’t live without an efficient appointment management system. Typical features these businesses would need include the service details like cost, time duration, place, easy and reliable registration process. It wouldn’t hurt to see a decent calendar integration either.
During my search for a great appointment manager, I found the perfect app – SetMore. SetMore is an ambitious cloud based web app that helps you schedule, manage appointments and customers. Let’s see how it fares in the real world.
Features
The registration process is quick and easy. It just takes less than 30 seconds to register. Once you login you’re welcomed with a pretty neat tabbed interface.
Tabbed interface
The settings tab houses bulk of SetMore’s features. We can simply start by adding the list of services that you have to offer through the Services link. You can breakdown the list of services to many categories. It allows you to specify the time taken to complete a task, price and even the staff who provides the service.
Finally, I can get my hair cut.
The system also allows you to add multiple staff members and even lets you add their working hours, time off and lunch breaks. This is a pretty useful feature that improves the overall experience and makes sure you won’t book an appointment when your team members are busy.

You can maintain the details of all your customers with the help of the customer tab. When a customer requests an appointment with you, they are automatically added to your customer list. You can manually enter new customers if you need. Then, you can see the customer details and the list of appointments requested just by clicking their name.

What’s the use of an appointment manager if you can’t see the schedule of your employees? The Calendar tab does just that and it does it right. You can view the schedule of all your employees including their working hours. The most coolest feature is that you can easily add/ delete an appointment inline without having to go to another page.
Now it’s time to put all these features in motion. To simplify things, every SetMore account is provided with a custom booking page and your services are listed here. A customer can use this page to schedule an appointment with you. If you already own a website just use the code given here to add the appointment button to your page and it’ll take care of the rest.
Customization
Everyone’s needs are different. SetMore understands that and their app is highly customizable. You can choose you own logo, color scheme and even customize the booking page URL per your needs, no questions asked.

Sometimes you might require some preparation time before you can start off with the appointment. SetMore allows you to specify a minimum amount of time before which an appointment can be scheduled under the Business Hours menu. This can efficiently reduce the waiting time of the customer.
Usability
The UI looks neat and uncluttered. A lot of thought has obviously gone into designing the page flows, to make it quicker to use. The tabbed interface does a great job in hiding the complexity of this application.

The sidebar in the Settings tab is neatly done with a clever break down of the content and reduces the clutter to a great extent.

Rescheduling an appointment? You can just drag and drop the existing appointment to the new schedule right from the calender instead of changing the timing manually.
Pricing and Support
SetMore comes in 2 flavors, Free and Premium. A free account is limited to 3 staffs, 300 appointments and unlimited service listing where as with a Pro account you can add up to 20 staffs and have unlimited appointments and services at a nominal charge of $10/ month.
SetMore’s supporting system is good. They’ve a very nice FAQ section which resolves most of the common issues. If you need assistance with a specific issue, you can simply drop them a note using the Feedback & Support menu hovering on the bottom of the screen. Their staff are particularly active and send in a prompt response.
Additional Features
The SetMore team is working on some really exciting features right now, including a WordPress plug-in, a Facebook app, Google Calendar sync, and customer import and export. These will make it an even more useful tool for keeping your business schedules filled the way you need.

Limitations
Setmore is packed with a lot of amazing features, but it’s not without its own limitations.
- A customer cannot re-schedule/ cancel an appointment by himself. He has to contact an internal user to get this done.
- There is no provision for marking an appointment as no-show. The employee has to go and delete the appointment manually.
- Services might require an advance payment be made to book a slot. Unfortunately SetMore doesn’t have any payment mechanism.
And that’s a wrap…
We don’t have a plethora of options when it comes to an appointment scheduler. SetMore does a great job with its incredible interface and power packed feature set. Even with a few limitations, SetMore is one of the most powerful appointment scheduler available today. The community is very active and they keep coming up with a lot of new features. I’ll strongly recommend you to give it a try.
