Blackberry Gps Tracking

This project requires the development of an application designed to run on BlackBerry devices, including 8000 and 9000 series models. The app very simply needs to be able to run in the background and will transmit current longitude and latitude to either an xml web service or simply post to a URL, whichever is easier. In addition to the longitude and latitude, three other strings will be sent along which serve to identify the user. These three strings will need to be entered into text boxes provided in the application and then saved between sessions so that the user does not need to constantly enter them.

Another feature needed is a simple status area which will display if the user is successfully transmitting location information back to the web service or not. The user interface should be simple, with the main screen showing current status and then perhaps a configuration screen that allow the entering in of the three strings mentioned above.

Although simple, we need this application to work dependable across many BlackBerry devices. This will be provided as an OTA application download and needs to “just work” for the user.
