I’d like an application that will remove the background from plant images that I take. The ouline of the images is often very complex (shrubs and trees) often with lots of negative space (often very small) that need to be differentiated from a white or black background. I work on a Mac in Photoshop so it would have to be compatible with a Mac OSX and any PSD files and could be in the form of a photoshop plugin. The extraction process in PS often leaves a halo or pockets of background about 1-2 pixels wide that have to be hand-corrected and is a very time intensive process. The application would have to leave a clean edge in both shadow and highlight areas of the subject. Sample images attached. (Windows or Java apps also considered.)
