I need to complete the set up a dating/ networking theme very quickly; I want to launch in the next 4- days. Sooner if possible. This isn’t a big or complicated job for someone who is great with wordpress & coding. I’ve written quite a lengthy description just to ensure you know exactly what I require.

I’ve already got a domain and hosting, with a standard dating wordpress theme (as linked above) installed, but it doesn’t do quite what I want it to do; you’ll need to do a lot of coding and customising to give my site the full functionality I require. I’m looking for someone with an expert knowledge of WordPress and experience in building a similar site to fix this up for me. The person I select will take pride in ensuring the site is fully functioning & tested with no bugs – and that it looks like a good clean site. I want to keep this as simple and clean as possible.

My site is for people to make new friends, as well as dating, within a niche area of the health and fitness sector. The focus is on making real life connections and meeting up with people local to the user.

My existing theme is set up just for dating, so I need some customisation here to ensure users looking to meet friends get equal functionality & benefit as the users looking for dating will. A key consideration is that a user may seek dating and a variety of other friendship requirements – which needs to match them with multiple other users on several criteria.

I also need the successful bidder to ensure my control panel and wordpress site are set up in such a way that they are going to be able to handle multiple same time users and storage of thousands of profiles.

You’ll need to set up some test profiles to test the performance and ensure there are no bugs.

I need non logged in & logged in users to see different things.

I have a full scope of how I want the site to work and look with full detail, as to what I want in each field/ whether fields are text or drop boxes/ mandatory or optional and character lengths I require. I’ll give this to the successful bidder – or on request before.

Non logged in users will see a home page and a search page. Their home page will have buttons to “Join now, it’s quick and Free!” and “Log in here” for existing users. They will also see a box with a brief summary of what the site is for & why they should sign up & what features are coming soon. The homepage will also have twitter & facebook links (actually, as I’ve set it up it has social buttons, you’ll just be making it look nicer). If they opt to “join now” they’ll go to a page where they complete a form to my specific requirements. I don’t want this to have any WordPress branding at all. Before they can click the “submit” button, they’ll have to tick a box to agree to my t&c’s and privacy policys, which will be hyperlinked to a hidden page with those details. They’ll also have an option to remain logged in.

Logged in users will see a homepage with their photo & summary profile, a search function, the “about” field as before & their inbox.

Logged in & non logged in users will be able to see the “About” page (already on the site) and a “Blog page” which will have an RSS feed (I’ve already done this)

Logged in & non logged in users will be able to see a “Search Page”. Here they’ll see either their photo & summary profile (logged in) or the “join” & “log in” buttons (non logged in users)
They’ll have a box to define their search critera. Users meeting those criteria will appear on the right of the page with photo, user name, icon to show what they are seeking, location & summary. Logged in users will have an option to send a preset message (some dating sites call this a kiss, wink or flirt, I have my own terminology which I’ll share with you) to any other user here (using my own terminology which I’ll provide). Non logged in users will just see a button to join or log in, as you must be logged in to send a preset message.

Once a user receives a preset interest message from another user, they’ll receive an auto sent email informing them (they need the option not to receive these emails to) They’ll have options to add to contacts/ decline the contact request or to view the detailed profile (when they view the detailed profile they’ll also see the options to add to contacts or decline). Once a contact has been accepted the initiator will also receive an auto email (they need the option to disable notification emails too). Once contact is accepted, the users are able to email each other via the site for free. NB This is going to be free initially, but I need the function to charge a user to message another user in the future (This capability is already in my theme with paypal capabilities; but it is currently set to monthly membership payments; I want free membership & the future option to start charging members to contact other members (i.e. what some sites such as http://www.rsvp.com.au refer to as “stamps”). I also want the future option to charge a monthly fee for a (yet to be determined) premium access – this is already functional on the theme I have purchased.

The user profile needs to have a few more options than in the current theme. I also need it to be tidied up visually, for example, so it fits and looks nice on the page, with all text displaying. The profile will be a combination of text fields & drop down boxes. So fields will be mandatory, some compulsory. Some drop down boxes need to enable multiple selection. Some text fields will have a minimum/ maximum number of characters. I have all this detail for the winning bidder. Most of this functionality is already there, it just needs tweaking. One of the options that may need work is the “location” field. A user needs to be able to enter their country (likely to be USA, UK, Australia, NZ, Canada & European countries), state & postcode or zip code. We need to recognise this geographically, to enable a user to search for someone within x miles of their specific geographical location. This is a key requirement, as I will have worldwide users & people must be able to quickly & easily filter on local nearby users.

When a user completes their profile & uploads their picture they will get an auto email. Their profile will go into the admin pending area and I will authorise. When I authorise, the user will get an auto email. This functionality is already on the theme, but I’ve not set it up yet. Once approved, the user will “go live” and be searchable on the system.

I also need all mention of “WordPress” & WP branding removed (I have done most of this, except for the user registration page)

I need Header & Sidebar advertising capacity

My overwhelming requirement is for a clean, simple and very functional site.

In your quote, I’d like to understand how you’re going to tackle this project specifically, what experience you have with examples of your work. I’d also like you to explain back to me a summary of what work you are going to achieve on my site. I need to know your clear, realistic timelines for this project. I’d like to find someone I can trust to do a lot of further work with me, as I have a lot of ideas for how I want to enhance and develop this site in the future; not to mention adding on further functionality as requested by my users.

I have a few (possibly quick) fixes that need to be done to my site.

Some requirements to help me solve these issues.

1) knowledge of WordPress
2) knowledge of WP E-Commerce Plugin
3) knowledge of Storefront themes is helpful
4) Jquery conflicts.

Problem 1)

Software does not add to cart in Internet Explorer.
Someone told me that it could be a plugin conflict or Jquery resource conflict.

Here is a sample URL… see that it adds to cart in Firefox BUT NOT Internet Explorer. (when the “add to cart” button is pressed in Internet Explorer. The “updating” wheel just keeps spinning. )

Problem 2)

Every Product / Product Category page has a bunch of thumbnailed or mini photos. These are product category photos. They really don’t make sense, i would like them removed so that when a product category page is called, just the products in that category are shown.
