Der Kritzler – The Drawbot

Alex Weber of Hamburg Germany has created this awesome drawing robot. Der Kritzler (which means “the Scribbler” in German) is a super cool drawing robot that can lay ink down directly on a piece of paper or even a window as you can see from the video below.

Using some stepper motors, gears, pulleys, suction cups and other various parts Alex has put together a simple yet effective drawing robot. By the looks of the outline on his blog, it doesn’t look like that hard a project for all the weekend hacking warriors.

Alleged iPhone 5 Case

The closer we get to a product refresh of iPhone hardware the more the rumour mills start turning. Italian Mac site Macitynet has what it claims is a case for the possibly upcoming iPhone 5.

If these are genuine pictures then we can expect a phone that is not only wider and longer but also thinner. Gone is the boxy design with a back that appears to taper on the corners. Volume buttons also resemble the forth-gen touch and the mute button has been moved to the right side.

The new iPhone is expected to be announced at Apple’s annual September music event with an actual release of October.

Magento Database Migration Wizard Needed

Our client is coming from a VERY custom CMS and we need to migrate the db into Magento. The current site is for a boutique that carries a variety of products from jewelry (customizable sets to collection pieces) to belts. The database allows admin to set up custom dropdowns (for unique color choices; i.e. – “sienna mist”, “aquamarine”) with custom fields and labels to describe options of the products. Administrators will need the ability to create/remove/update these customizable jewelry sets and give customer ability to mix and match individual collection pieces to create their own unique jewelry set.

The client would like to set up promotional pricing, gift cards, gift certificates and promo codes. Additionally, the customers are able to sign-in and flag products to their “wish-list” and that allows non-signed-in customers to search and view wish-list to make purchases.

The current database has about 6000 products and hundreds of customers.

The aforementioned is not an exhaustive description rather a high-level explanation to the size and complexity of the project. Additional requirements can be supplied prior to quote. We will supply a database schematic with relationships and columns.

Our maximum time for database setup, migration and QA is 2-weeks.
