Boy, 3, caught vandalising cars

A three-year-old boy was caught vandalising cars in South Yorkshire, data released under the Freedom of Information Act has revealed.

The incident near Rotherham in May was recorded by South Yorkshire Police.

The boy was too young to be charged with any offence.

It was also revealed that three other children under the age of 10 were caught damaging cars this year, while three more were involved in a robbery at a snooker club.

Despite this, South Yorkshire Police said there had been a reduction in the number of incidents involving children aged 12 and under.

A spokesperson said this demonstrated “the positive work carried out by South Yorkshire Police and its partners to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour among young people”.
