Is it possible to make datalist behave like a google search bar?

I used datalist as the main search bar for my software. Datalist autocomplete shows up on desktop but when I try to use it on iPad, the dropdown thing is hidden. Going back to my question… it is possible to make datalist behave like a google search bar where the autocomplete shows up while I type?

I looked up for some workarounds and polyfill has been referenced a lot. But it’s not the behavior that I want to achieve.
