How can i repeat a value x times separatly with commas? [duplicate]

How can i do repetitions inside of an array each one?

for example in ruby i can do this

['s'] * 3

the result is

[‘s’,’s’,’s’]

i would like do same in js

 ([trait.repeat(data * TOTAL)])

but i am getting

[‘sss’]
