Call me an oldie, but .. a scripting language qualified as a scripting on the the basic assumption that it is NOT possible to declare user-defined data-structures, records or object. The programmer is only allowed to use the basic data or object types built into the language. That is, programmers, can only use the types or classes built into the language. Nothing more, nothing less. My question, the facility for the declaration of classes disqualifies Javascript from being a scripting language.
