Brief: I have a Magento site and I simply need it configured so that when a user clicks on a parent category it will show all the child category products. IE. Feb 1-15 will show all of “Boy meets Girl” and then all of “Desert Sands”.
Right now clicking on Feb 1-15 has been disabled using jQuery in page/2-column-left.phtml. You should be able to loop through all the children categories and display the product listing page for those categories, some of the code is already present in the 2-column-left.phtml template that you may need.
Default sort on the product listing page is a custom attribute of sort_order.
