I will preface this project by saying that I’ve used jQuery for a number of years and know it inside out.
==============================================================
I am looking for a developer who understands the following aspects
of jQuery:
1. How to convert a piece of jQuery code into a clean, functional plugin (that works)
2. Understanding of why jQuery 1.4.2 functions should be used instead of things like live() etc found in earlier versions.
3. How to code clean, working examples.
I run a blog where I often offer tutorials on jQuery. I would however like to start offering more and as I don’t have the time, this is where you might come in.
I usually have a piece of code (or pieces) I’ve created which I need tidied up and then turned into a plugin (as well as being cross-browser tested). You don’t have to be involved in any aspects of graphically designing the demo for the plugin, you just need to make sure that
1. The code is re-factored so that it is as tidy as can be with respect to variables / structure.
2. Convert the code into a plugin so that a user could easily use it by doing something like $(‘.container’).applyPlugin({config details})
3. Deliver me the cleaned code, in plugin form with a functional demo.
The first of these projects are what you are bidding on. It is a functional project that performs what it does correctly, but I need you to basically convert the code into plugin form and make sure it can be easily configured (eg. if the plugin requires variable settings, make it so that this can be defined when the plugin is being called etc).

If you are able to take on the project, reply back to me regarding your experience with jQuery. Note: Just because you’ve used jQuery plugins before, does not mean you understand how they work. I am looking for someone that has actually created their own plugin, regardless of how simple, before.
Please ensure you mention your experience in your bid or a PM message.
