I need to have a simple screensaver program written that will allow movies AND pictures to be randomly displayed.
Currently, any default computer screensaver will randomly select a picture from any selected file and display it on the screen with random transitions (fade in, fade out, move in place from top, bottom, each side etc). The program needs to imitate the current default program in any computer in that you can choose how long the picture is displayed, if you want the picture to be displayed in order or at random and how large you want the image from 1-100%.
The extra part that I need to have integrated is that the program will also allow random video clips from cameras and iPhones to be played out just like the photos. The clips would transition or fade in just like a picture, play in a clean format like windows media player – with sound.
The file types that would be selected should be all common video clip format types from .mov, .mpeg, mpeg1, mpeg2, MOD, TOD, Quicktime, AVI etc.
This would allow me to put all my pictures and video clips from my camera, iPhone etc into 1 file and let the program randomly browse the folder for what to display next. Could be photo, photo, photo, clip, photo, clip, clip or whatever. The program would have to just be able to transition cleanly from clip to photo when displaying it.
