I am looking for experts in MySQL and PHP to do a thorough analysis of a website that is suffering from severe performance issues.
It’s a mysql driven videosharing site with decent traffic on a dedicated server. Mysql runs on a separate powerful dedicated machine.
Bandwidth is not the issue, it’s the site that builds up slow. It’s smarty template based. Video playback is done with a Flash Player. It can take up to 30 seconds for the player to be initialized (xml file build up).
Videos are served through the web server. At one point I had a media server with video delivery directly from there via a subdomain. That didn’t help the problem.
What I would like is an in depth analysis of what is going on on both machines and why things are so slow. Possibly as a separate project how to fix things.
