I have a box and will be installing CentOS 6 (unless another recommendation is received). My ultimate goal is to have a box where I can run Dolphin 7.04 with the recommended settings from BoonEX (they have a complete list of settings for this on their installation web page).
I will install the CentOS and the SSH and the programmer will have to configure everything from there because when it comes to Linux, I’m a complete rock.
One more thing – this will be an HTTP server, though I already have a server 2008 R2 network that is serving HTTP sites. I see two ways to do this: Either I make the linux box on it’s own static IP address or somehow I forward the one domain from the windows box to the linux box. I don’t know if that is a DNS issue or what…
Once Dolphin is configured and running properly where it can be accessed, I can take it from there, though I will have additional projects to discuss if I like the knowledge and work ethic of the person doing the work.
