Novelist Seeks A Weekly Deadline Whip

I want to finish a polished draft of my novel (the rough draft is already done). To make sure that I stick to my self-imposed revision/writing schedule, I want to hire a cheap “deadline whip.”

The job is very simple: every Monday you should receive an email with a new 4-page scene from me. You don’t ever have to edit, critique, or even read the manuscript. All you have to do is send me an email message saying “Congratulations on making progress with your novel!” when you get the latest installment.

If on the other hand, Monday comes around and you don’t see a new scene from me, then your task is to send an email to me (and all my friends), saying “Shame on Pat! His wretched novel has stalled again – what an idiot!” (Or something to that effect.)

The novel consists of 54 key scenes, so my plan is to have the finished novel done in about a year, say 13 months.

So there’s very little work required on your part. I expect to start this Polished Draft project in late December 2011.

I will pay you in two lump sums: the first at the start of the project, and the final payment 13 months later, say Feb 1st 2013 (whether the novel is actually completed or not).
