We are a psychological training institute and we have a fairly complicated website with lots of pages, several libraries of articles, an extensive CMS for managing pages, libraries, training dates, training contents, lists of members, Google-maps for training locations, revolving graphics, different background graphics, cross links between pages, and so on.
This site needs constant work, mainly because there are often problems with how it works. Sometimes we will change one things and then suddenly other things change too, which we had not expected… Also, technology and culture change, and there is always a wish-list of new thing we would like our site to be able to do.
We had a php programmer who did all this for us, but he suddenly disappeared. So we are looking for a new programmer.
This is a half time job. So your bid will your price monthly for half time (20 hours a week). The first month will probably be full time, due to orientation on this complex site.
Basically there are five tasks:
1. Trouble shooting problems the site usually has
2. Adding new functionalities
3. Eventually migrating the site to joomla or drupal or something like that
4. Making sure the site is – or stays – SEO friendly
5. Thinking with us – and orienting internationally – about useful changes to the site.
Requirements:
1. Experience in similar projects (you need to have at least 5 SL reviews that are relevant to this job)
2. You want to do this for 2 years minimum
3. Good communication skills; your English does not need to be perfect – the site is in Dutch anyway – but you must like to communicate with people, like talking about what you are doing, like explaining things, being empathic and understanding – rather than aloof and nerdy – and so on
4. Be willing to report daily
5. Be willing to solve problems as soon as possible
