I am a videographer and would like to have a website to display my work.
I was thinking of buying this template then have someone modify it for my needs.
http://templates.entheosweb.com/template_number/29224.asp I would like some kind of a CMS to be built so I can edit the template myself. I am not a programmer and do not own or know how to use the flash software described on the template page required for installation and customization. I do have Photoshop CS4 and a good knowledge of working with web based images and video.
Another possibility, if I can’t have a CMS, might be to have some customize this template and I would buy the necessary software to be able to access the server and make my changes/edits myself once I was shown how to do this. Not really looking to study programming but would need to be taught how to make the following changes from time to time if I did not have CMS ability. I would like to be able to make the following changes to the template:
Homepage:
1. Change home page Logo to my own, which I will need to have created. I do have ideas for this.
2. Ability to add my own clips to the home page. I would probably keep these as short trailers as they have done.
3. Ability to change the sound track.
4. Ability to edit footer.
Menu drop down upper right:
1. The About page. Ability to change left side image and have my photo/logo. Enlarge font and have white on black instead of gray on black for readability.
2. Change Packages tab to Home for navigation back to home page.
3. Videos tab, I would need the ability to add my own videos to these links and edit text. Be nice to also have a thumbnail image next to the description link. When the description link is clicked to would open the same player the home page uses and play the selected video.
4. Testimonials page. Ability to edit text and add images
5. Contacts page, ability to change image, text and of course have emails sent to me.
I have checked with network solutions and they indicated I can host a flash based site with my basic hosting package. Sequel is also included in my package, if that helps. My video clips are about 5 to 10 minuets in length. I can convert them to flash if necessary for the player. Here is a link to one of my clips on Vimeo: http://www.vimeo.com/15106849
