I would like a way to track active website visitors- example website visitors who are still on a webpage (the webpage is still open) and be able to see this number.
Similar to this: http://chartbeat.com/demo/# but I only need the active visits number.
The code you write needs to be highly scalable to be able to support 1,000s of website visitors at the same time.
I need to then store the hourly summary of the active visitors in a mysql database and be able to have summary data of how many actives per week and per month. You will need to make sure data is not duplicated.
