The assignment is to write a php script then use it to scrape a small number of data points from a large ecommerce web site.
Sample html and a screen capture is attached. I will provide the url of the site after you have been chosen for the project.
Here are the project parameters:
1. The scrape will be done from your server, but I would like a copy of your code. PHP only, please.
2. Scrape the title (it’s always a link), manufacturer, model number, and “our price” for all products in all product categories, approximately 50,000 items.
3. Insert the data in a mysql table of your design.
4. Upon completion, email a data dump to me.
That’s all there is to it.
Payment will be made through SL escrow only, upon delivery and verification of the data.

The attached files will give you an idea of the html and site layout you’ll be working with. I will provide the actual url to the programmer I wish to hire.
