i’m looking to build up a multi local city portal here in my country (germany).
the script should work like golocal.de for example.
you should visit my site domain.de and automatically get informations about your city (i already coded geo targeting via google maps, working well).
when you are on your city site, you can see restaurants, museums, companys and so on. each of these items has a single url (domain.de/citiyname/restaurant-name.html f.e.).
if the city doesn’t exist, the user can register on my site and create the city (check with google maps if the city really exists).
all users also can signup and enter items, events, and so on.
users can write comments on each item and also vote for items (1-5 stars).
users can switch citys (simply enter a different postal code). to stay there, best would be to work with cookies and IPs.
the site can be in english, if you can’t speak german, but there has to be a language file so that i can easily translate it.
on the frontpage you see on the main body your city and new events, locations, and so on. but on the right site and bottom there has to be space for other modules like “best voted city of the week, best comment, best voted event, and so on”. you can be creative – tell me what you would like to see on such a site.
– modrewrite – really nice looking urls!
– different title, description and keywords on EVERY single page!
(f.e. title = “{$city} – events, news and locations on domain.de”)
– template driven (smarty?)
– some web2.0 components (realtime ajax search?)
– good admin area!
– make more suggestions.
i would be glad if you could place your offer and a good explanation, what this script should do and why you can do the job.

in the future i want to have more modules for that script, if you are good, you are my man for it (for example networking between users and so on).
