There are 3 aspects to the site; search, meet and enjoy.
Search as in the university directory, meet as in the social media aspect and enjoy discounts.
The design should be professional, appealing to students and appealing to advertisers. It will need to be basic like facebooks/bebos as we need it fast loading. It should incorporate refer a friend function, sign in, register, twitter and facebook links like the one on blog.com.
